Simien Mountains Trekking
Detination: Buyit Ras, Sankaber, Geech, Chennek
Duration: 5 days/4nights
Day 1
Fly from Addis to Gondar & car picks us up from the airport and takes us to Debarek and drops us near Buyit Ras to trek Sankaber through wonderful scenarios of the landscape of the endless mountain ridges, and some Gelada Baboons.
Day 2
In the morning at around 8am we trek to Geech on the way we visit
where Jinbar waterfall plunges in to the Abyss. The area is also a great spot
to see the Gelada Baboons.
Day 3
In the morning we hike through the grass plateau a home to the Giant Lobelia Plants to Imet Gogo (3,926m) where we can see the wonderful view of the landscape and Valleys. After visitation on the way of our back to Geech we pass through Siha Gorgeand take a lunch break. After lunch we proceed to Geech and relax for some time and we have a short trek to Keda Dit to enjoy the view of the sunset and trek back to Geech.
Day 4
We trek around 7 hours towards Innatye where will descend to a Giant Hazel Forest and ridgelines open grasslands. We ascend to a place where we can see Walia Ibex, Gelada Baboon…
Day 5
We ascend to Buwahit (4,430m) where we can see Walia Ibex, Red Fox… After lunch in Chennek we drive to Gondar.
